Buddypress Group Invite by Email

Here’s another small plugin I wrote: Group Invite By Email.  Basically, it adds an email field to the bottom of the usual “send-invites” screen.  Then, when you click “send invites” it sends the person a nice little email explaining they’ve been invited to your group, and giving them a link to register on your site.

Once they complete the registration, it automatically adds them to the group.  It does this by checking their email address against a list of outstanding invites.  This removes the extra hassle of needing to invite them to the group after you’ve gotten them to sign up, and them needing to approve your group invitation.

In the future, this functionality will likely be bundled with another plugin already existing: Invite Anyone. That plugin allows you to invite non-friends to your group; this one allows you to invite non-members.

Here it is:

Sounds great Peter. I’ve downloaded it and look forward to using it. I’m a Buddypress newbie as I only downloaded BP for the first time today – lots to learn!

Hi, can anyone help with this? I could not see where to install the 2 files – nothing seemed to happen unless I put them in the same directory as Buddypress (v1.2.4.1). Then when I tried to activate I got this error message:

Plugin could not be activated because it triggered a fatal error

Warning: require_once(include/classes.php) [function.require-once]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /usr/local/www/vhosts/flat-stomach-secrets.com/httpdocs/blog/wp-content/plugins/buddypress/index.php on line 21

I don’t want my group members to be able to invite other people, I just want admin to do this, so the ‘invite anyone’ plugin isn’t suitable.
    Advice appreciated.

  3. Are you actively supporting this plugin?
Does it require the ‘invite-anyone’ plugin?
If not, where does one find the “send invites’ screen?
If so, you should know, ‘invite-anyone’ has a real glitch and has stated it it too much to correct.
